Souk is the Arabic term for marketplace. Like all other peoples, the ancient Arabs had their own Souks as there were over twenty of them in pre-Islamic periods; the most important of these Souks by far was Souk Okaz because it was the one that all Arabian tribes flocked to from within or without Arabia.
